This is my favorite place to stay in Sofia because of its convenience, food, and high quality. If you stay here, you will see why it is one of the best Sofia Bulgaria accommodations.

The staff is super friendly, the room is comfy, there’s a yummy breakfast spread every morning, and it’s within walking distance of lots of cute coffee places and shops. It’s an extremely delightful place to stay.

2) Central Hotel Sofia

As you can probably tell from the name, the Central Hotel Sofia has an excellent location right in the center of Sofia. It is located right near a lot of the main attractions in Sofia, like the Archaeological Museum, where you can go on a hunt for lions.

The hotel also has several excellent amenities. It has parking, in case you brought your car to Sofia, although they will charge a small additional fee. It also has a relaxation center that includes a spa and a hot tub, in case you want to get all glam when you’re in Bulgaria.

The hotel also has its own restaurant, in case you get snacky while you are on the road. They serve a great breakfast every morning, where you can get all the Bulgarian yogurt and pastries every morning, among other treats.

On top of that, the hotel offers free wifi. Many hotels do nowadays, but it’s still nice to know that this hotel has it for sure. They also have other convenient features for the business or leisure traveler, like a 24 hour front desk and a business center, in case you need to send faxes or whatever people do in a business center.

Welcome to the Hotel Leda, which is definitely one of the best of the Sofia Bulgaria accommodations, as proved by its many five star reviews. The hotel also is within walking distance of the main attractions of the city center. When I travel, especially as a solo traveler, I definitely prefer to stay in the middle of things. It makes my trip more convenient and there is also safety in numbers.

There are a lot of features that make the Hotel Leda appealing. There are the usuals like free wifi, air conditioning, and a 24 hour front desk. However, if you are really looking forward to getting cozy at your hotel, they also have a garden and some rooms even have a terrace. How exciting!

The staff is really friendly and fluent in both English and Bulgarian. If you need any help finding things to do in Sofia or if you need directions, they will be most happy to assist you. The hotel does not provide a full hot breakfast, but they do have free snacks that you can eat instead.

Like many hotels in Sofia, the value for the amount of money that you have to pay to stay here is really excellent. This is definitely one of the best Sofia Bulgaria accommodations considering all the wonderful features that the hotel has, as well as the affordable price.

The Hotel Niky is another extremely convenient and affordable hotel in Sofia. I think you will have a great time if you manage to book a reservation at this charming hotel, which is definitely one of the best Sofia Bulgaria accommodations. The location of this hotel is quite convenient. It is within walking distance of many great attractions, like the largest park in Sofia.

Also, it’s a little more off the beaten track than some of the other locations I recommend, if you would rather have a bit of peace and quiet.

In terms of special features, they not only have free wifi, they also have a computer area so you can borrow a computer for free in case yours is not working or you did not bring one and need it for an emergency.

If you get hungry, the hotel has its own Bulgarian restaurant in a lovely garden. That’s right, many tourists are not familiar with Bulgarian food, but I found it delicious and full of meat and tomatoes, so I suggest you give it a try. If the weather is colder, you can eat indoors with a fireplace. They also provide breakfast in the morning, so you could really eat all of your meals here, but I think a little more variety might be nicer.

This hotel is a great value for the price, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable and quiet. What else could you want?

5) Best Western Art Plaza Hotel

Up next, we have a chain that will be familiar to many of my American readers. Of course, I mean the Best Western chain, and this is the Best Western Art Plaza Hotel. This hotel is located right in the city center, just near the Palace of Culture. I think Sofia’s city center is quite underrated because it was modeled after Vienna and has many stunning buildings.

Because this is a chain hotel, you might be familiar with the way it operates or have loyalty points here. Either way, I think you will have a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Of course, you will have access to free wifi. That is basically a guarantee at this point.

However, the Best Western in Sofia also has several other very important features. There is a 24 hour front desk, and they will help you with luggage storage if you arrive early or need to leave a little later. They also have a business center, in case you have to work when you are in Sofia. Finally, there is free coffee and tea, for that all important caffeine fix.

Are you looking for breakfast? As you might expect from any Best Western, there is a breakfast buffet every morning, and it will satisfy all of your breakfast needs. Also, there is air conditioning in the rooms, which is not a guarantee in Europe, but very much appreciated in a hot Sofia summer. 6) Light Hotel

Coming up now is next on our list of the best Sofia Bulgaria accommodations: the Light Hotel. This hotel is right in the middle of Sofia’s city center, near the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. However, it is on a quiet side street, so you will not have to worry about too much noise. That makes it pretty much the perfect location.

On top of that, the hotel has a business center, a restaurant, and a bar. You basically never have to leave the Light Hotel when you’re in Sofia because everything you need is right here. (However, I do suggest leaving the hotel because Sofia is a very attractive city.)

There is also free wifi, a fitness center, and a 24 hour front desk. There is an airport shuttle service as well, although of course you are going to have to pay for that one. However, that is pretty standard for airport shuttle service at hotels. Finally, the staff is helpful, the breakfast is tasty, and the price is just right. What more could you want?

7) Arte Sofia Hotel

The Arte Sofia Hotel is a great destination for anyone looking for a little bit of glamour in Sofia. That’s why I say it’s one of the best Sofia Bulgaria accommodations. The rooms have fun features like a TV and a mini bar, if that is your sort of thing. The hotel is just in the city center, right within walking distance of the lion collection at the Archaeological Museum. (The lion is the symbol of Bulgaria, don’t you know?)

There is a Bulgarian restaurant at the hotel, so you can eat all the Bulgarian food your heart desires. The restaurant also serves breakfast, so you won’t need to leave the hotel to get your morning meal. The hotel also has parking, free wifi, a 24 hour front desk, and an airport shuttle, which you only have to pay a bit extra for. This is all you have come to expect from the best Sofia Bulgaria accommodations, but it is still very much appreciated.

There are some charms of the Arte Sofia Hotel, however, that I cannot quite fit into a list of amenities. One of these is that the rooms are lovingly decorated in soft colors. Another of the charms is that the staff is super friendly and helpful, no matter what your Sofia related needs are. The beds are extremely comfortable, and the price is quite affordable. I feel confident that you will enjoy making this place your home away from home!

The final hotel on our list of the best Sofia Bulgaria accommodations is the St George Hotel. Do not get nervous when you hear that name, however, because it’s very unlikely that you will encounter a dragon while you are staying at this hotel.

However, what you will find is a hotel that is located right in the heart of Sofia, next to major attractions like the National Art Gallery. So it is the perfect choice if you want to be directly in the middle of things during your trip. However, it is on a quiet street, so you will not have to worry about too much noise when you stay here. A perfect fit!

How to Get There

Now, I wish I knew where you lived, Internet Stranger, because I could send you a bottle of Sofia’s finest brandy for you to have for your very own. Sadly, I do not, and so I can’t tell you exactly how to get from your home to your time in Sofia

But I can tell you that you can use an airplane to get to Sofia, which is the largest city in Bulgaria. However, I’ve never gotten a direct flight from my hometown New York City. You will need to find a layover in a city like Paris or Amsterdam to get to Sofia from the United States.

It was easy and the flight is reasonably affordable.. It’s also just a short distance from Sofia to any of the hotels that I recommend in this article. The taxi rides into the city center from the airport are very inexpensive. I recommend Expedia for the best way to find the cheapest flight to Sofia and the rest of Bulgaria.
