24 Hours in Las Vegas Secret Food Tour

1) Las Vegas Strip Food Tour

Some people might think that the idea of a food tour in Las Vegas sounds like a strange thing to do. After all, Las Vegas is known for lots of things like blackjack, heists, Siegfried and Roy, and such like. But it isn’t necessarily known for food far and wide.

However, Las Vegas definitely deserves to be known more as a culinary destination. There are many celebrity chefs who have chosen to have restaurants in Sin City, and we’ll try a whole bunch of them on this tour, if you’ll join me on the best of the Las Vegas Viator tours.

You can book this tour easily yourself by clicking here.

On top of that, there’s a whole bunch of bad food available in Las Vegas, so this tour will help you avoid those places.

If there’s one name you think of when you think of celebrity chefs, it just might be the omnipresent Gordon Ramsey. The dude has a ton of restaurants in Las Vegas, and he’s probably opening a new one as I write this.

On my Las Vegas food tour, we stopped at his pub to try the finest in British cuisine. (No, that’s not a contradiction in terms, I promise. The British do great pub grub.)

I can’t guarantee what you’ll try on the food tour, but I snacked on a scotch egg and pigs in a blanket, which I didn’t even know were British. Scotch eggs are boiled eggs encased in a swaddling of ground meat. I don’t know exactly what is Scotch about them. They don’t sound like Sean Connery or anything.

And of course, these are the pigs in a blanket, which are actually known as toad in the hole in the United Kingdom. In my house, toad in the hole is a breakfast dish involved eggs and toast. Does anyone else know what I’m talking about?

You need to pair both these treats with the marvelous HP Sauce, which every English Dad needs to eat for breakfast. But I promise that it’s not ONLY for British dads. I don’t know what HP sauce is exactly, but I assume it has something to do with printers.

Our next stop was at a restaurant run by the Two Hot Tamales: Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger. These were two of the earliest female celebrity chefs on the food network, so yay feminism! And even more yay for feminism and food.

On this tour we got a sampler plate of their specialties. As you can see, there were exactly two hot tamales on my plate, but the plantain empanadas were just as delicious!

As you can see, you can find just about any kind of cuisine in Las Vegas. We’ve tried British, then Latin American, and now we’re going for Southern! My parents are from Atlanta and New Orleans, so I am always excited to find Southern treats.

Our snack here was the fried green tomato BLT, served with a delectable pork belly. It was delicious, but I was shocked to find that fried green tomatoes aren’t actually Southern. They come from the Midwest. It wasn’t until the book Fried Green Tomatoes, which takes place in the South, came out that people started thinking of it as Southern.

This might be the case, but fried green tomatoes are sure as shooting Southern now. I wouldn’t recommend rolling up to Des Moines and trying to order a plate of fried green tomatoes. You’ll be waiting a long time!

Ready for the next stop on our international tour of the Las Vegas strip? It’s time for Japan. Now, the first things you think of when you think of Japanese food might be sushi or teriyaki. However, it’s unlikely to be chocolate.

However, Royce is a luxury chocolate company that makes exquisite Japanese chocolate in Hokkaido, which is in the north of the country. Royce claims that the cold weather of Hokkaido creates a perfect environment for making chocolate.

I was lucky that I got to try their “Nama” chocolate on the tour, which is a combination of cream and chocolate. You actually need to keep this chocolate refrigerated, which makes it hard for a tourist to consider purchasing. That’s why we’re lucky to eat some on this tour!

Our last international food stop on the tour is France, at celebrity chef Thomas Keller’s bakery. Keller has a whole bunch of Michelin-starred restaurants, but we’re just here for the macarons. These yummy treats are super trendy because they come in lots of different colors and are crazy difficult to make.

It was the perfectly glamorous end to this surprisingly classy Las Vegas food tour! That’s why I say it’s one of the best Las Vegas Viator tours!

2) Grand Canyon Tour

Of course, there’s a billion things to do in Las Vegas, but there are also many wonderful day trips that you can take out of the city. And probably the most popular day trip of all the best Las Vegas Viator tours will take you to the stunning Grand Canyon. It’s exciting to get away to a different state in just one day!

The Grand Canyon is one of the most beautiful natural phenomena on the planet, and I don’t really think you can say that you’ve seen the United States if you’ve never been here. And I’ve found the perfect tour for you–one with tons of five star reviews and excellent service!

You can book this terrific tour right here!

This tour doesn’t just take you to the Grand Canyon! It will also take you to the Hoover Dam and Joshua Tree National Park, so you’re really seeing all the main attractions of the surrounding countryside.

The tour will take you on your vacation in a fancy bus with a restroom and air conditioning, which can be extremely important, given how hot it gets in Las Vegas and Arizona.

The bus won’t necessarily pick you up at your hotel, but they do pickups all along the Strip, so you should be just a short walk away from the bus if it doesn’t stop at your hotel. And along the way, you’ll get to have breakfast, which is included on the tour. (So is lunch.)

There is also the optional upgrade to participate in the Skywalk once you get to the Grand Canyon. As you can probably guess from the name, this is a glass bridge that allows you to actually walk above the Grand Canyon. If you don’t suffer from vertigo, it’s a truly majestic experience.

3) More Food Tour

There’s one other food tour that I recommend trying out of all the best Las Vegas Viator tours. Our first tour was a tour of the Las Vegas strip, but this tour will take you to Downtown Las Vegas and Fremont, which is a lot more like being back in the Vegas of the Rat Pack.

I felt like a character from Mad Men strolling around here, minus all the cigarette smoke. (OK, minus some of the cigarette smoke.)

You’ll get four different food stops on the tour, and at each stop, you can purchase a beverage (alcoholic or non) as you choose. It’s better that way because you don’t have to pay for any drinks you don’t really want. And if you do want to get four different drinks, you can definitely go ahead and indulge. After all, what happens in Vegas…I forget how to finish that phrase.

But this food tour won’t just give you yummy eats! You’ll also be able to see some fabulous buildings, learn local history and gossip, and explore the Container Park, which is one of the coolest shopping areas in Las Vegas. It doesn’t get any better than this!

4) Las Vegas Night Bus

Las Vegas is the neon capital of the world. After all, how many places have a Neon Museum? So what better way to see Las Vegas than when it’s all lit up at night?

That’s why I recommend this Las Vegas Big Bus Open Top Night Bus Tours as one of the best Las Vegas Viator tours. (Yeah, the open top might run the risk of letting in rain, but to be fair, how often does it rain in Las Vegas?)

On this tour, you’ll be able to see all the iconic neon signs on the Las Vegas strip and Fremont Street. You’ll even be able to get out of the bus and go for a walk on Fremont! And you’ll be able to see so many more neon signs on this tour than you would on your own, as well as other attractions like the famous Bellagio fountain!

I’m sure this will be a Las Vegas experience you’ll never forget!

Sometimes I recommend hotels that are a little obscure or off the beaten track. Today is not that day. Today, I recommend you choose the world famous Bellagio Hotel for your Las Vegas Viator tours.

It has the perfect location on the Strip, there’s tons of gorgeous artwork, and it has crazy fountains that light up at night. (If they’re good enough for George Clooney and Brad Pitt in Ocean’s Eleven, they’re good enough for you.)

If you’re looking for great deals at this hotel, click here.
